    Firstly, let's prepare the syrup for the kunafah. Let's add water and sugar into a pot and let it boil. Let's stir occasionally. When it starts to boil, add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and continue boiling for 10-15 minutes. Then let the syrup cool down.

    Let's start making our künefe. First, let's melt the butter over low heat. After melting, let's set it aside and wait. After the butter freezes, there will be water at the bottom, let's not use it. Let's add molasses into the butter and mix until it reaches the consistency of custard. On the other side, grate the kunafeh cheese.

    Grease the bottom of the container where we will make the künefe (if there is a künefe tray, if not, an aluminium or teflon pan) with the molasses mixture. Separate the kadayıf by linting. Then it is cut into two pieces with a thickness of 1 cm. Add the grated cheese on the kadayıf and add the other kadayıf to cover the cheese. Smooth the edges and press on it with the help of a glass (there should be no gaps).

    Let's cook on the stove over low heat. After making sure that the bottom is completely browned, turn the tray upside down on a plate and grease the inside of the second tray so that the other side is also cooked. Let's place the kunafah on the tray so that the browned part remains on top and the bottom is browned. Thus, both sides will be fried. Pour the syrup starting from the edge. You can serve the künefe with powdered pistachios or clotted cream if you want.
